The Kitchenaid K4SSS mixer operates in 10 speeds and uses a “planetary mixing action.” The “planetary mixing action” means that the blade move in one direction while the shaft the blade is on moves in another direction. The dual movement allows the mixer to get to every area of the mixing bowl, leaving no lumps behind.

Cleaning the Kitchenaid K4SSS mixer is a snap because the mixer head tilts back allowing convenient access to both the bowl and the beater that is currently in use. Cleaning the mixer itself is also easy. All you need is damp cloth and the mixer cleans right up. Most of the attachments for this mixer are dishwasher safe eliminating a cumbersome cleaning process.
